Actually I  have no freaking idea.

What I do know, however, is that I'm terribly slack at updating on here & terribly busy with the shenanigans that is trying my hand at post-grad.

In the last 3 months, since I last updated (I'M SORRY!), I've tried my hand at being live performance curator. Which was weird.
Well, the whole performance brief was weird but that's what happens when you let dancers & techies create instillation art pieces. Things like burning barbies, cross-dressing men bathing grown-men-babies while ladies in stubbies bark orders, kava ceremonies and virtual speed dating. Oh and spending about 7 hours sewing sequins onto a hangman's underwear. Yup.

I also returned home to work on the annual Unity in Diversity Festival, which is a showcase of a variety of the cultures we have around the university.
I ran tech for it last year and impressed enough that I was told to save the dates for this years. After the 2011 show I've been asked back for every year I can fit it into my schedule, which is really nice. And I really enjoy the tech side of things, especially lighting. Oh how I miss lighting design! How I miss opping shows!
While the tech side of U&D is fairly low key compared to other gigs, the on the fly & terribly kludgey nature of it is enough to drive most people to insanity.
I'm already nuts, so U&D is great fun.

Fast forward to now!

I'm in the throws of a show called Can't Pay! Won't Pay! by the ever amazing Dario Fo.
The play is basically an examination of the struggle that is humanity and the phenomenon that is en-mass rejection of the current societal system by those it seeks to oppress.
In other words a really cutting look at what makes us tick, which is just the sort of production that I love!

My director is Brasilian and an absolute madman.
Observing the way he works and contrasting it against other directors I've worked with is really interesting. I've been taking notes! I'll let you know once I get around to writing about the process, it really is fascinating!
In fact, in a total contrast to last show, the biggest problems I've had with Director is his tendency to not stick to the rehearsal plan. Which is a pain but not the end of the world.

Other than Uni I've been working on a writing project. At the moment it's mostly outlining and jotting down ideas but I'm hoping to beta some of the scenarios before the year is out.
Also just starting to think about NaNoWriMo again. Unfortunately November is our major assessment month so realistically I'm going to crash and burn.

On the other hand, I'm a sucker for a seemingly impossible challenge.

I miss our ridiculous yarns! I can't wait to finally finish sifting through the piles of everything that await me so I can spend more time with you.
